When I tried it a message came up on the centre display “cruise control fault” but after I unplugged my cluster tried another then plugged it back in again nothing is happening

I do not think that cluster will work. You would need one of these:
   

Unfortunately, I have not seen any for sale with mph, but it is not too difficult to design and print one with mph.

East was talking about the m59 berlingo and the instrument cluster that I supplied is for the m59. Yours is 2013, a lot newer than the m59.

Has anyone disassembled the cluster to look at the PCB? Is there a soldered (or otherwise) jumper for miles/KMs?

You sometimes see things like that on mobile phones, they can be used for memory sizes, regions etc.

I spent a bit of time looking into this. It is not as easy as flipping a jumper. It seems that the Miles or KM is stored in the EEPROM on the cluster's PCB. Unfortunately, one has to read it with a suitable eeprom serial programmer, e.g. upa usb. It should be relatively easy to read the config data/dump from the eeprom. All the mileage correction people are doing that, plus the BSI. I am thinking of buying one of these programmers (upa usb) and have a go at changing the relevant byte to show miles, rather than km. As far as I can see the problem will be to identify which exact byte to change. It could be more than one byte, but for other cars is one.

No worries, I am also looking for a solution. My instrument cluster works perfectly (CC LCD) and cruise also, but odometer shows KM. I do not have much of a problem with that, but it bugs me somehow. I have already replaced the underlay, so I see MPH, rather than km.
The EEPROM is small, couple of mils, with 8 wires (4 on each side opposite). It should be positioned close to the chip (bigger with I think 8 connections on each side, but it could be 16). There is this quite cheap USB keeprog that will read the, I think, 95020 eeprom. I am thinking of connecting a soic8 in-circuit adaptor to read in situ. Will post if I manage to do something. I have a few spare clusters to test
