Sorry for not been back on I ordered the part from the link you gave me wasn't sure when it was coming or even coming so found a breakers that was open today a went through every citreon I could find no joy but got a email to say that the part was coming on Thursday so fingers crossed that it gets everything sorted thanks very much for the help your saint and a scholar I'll let u know on Thursday or Friday

Mike is good, I've had stupid wee bits I couldn't get elsewhere or even find, and it's all OEM Citroen, Peugeot or DS parts he sells.

I got the main fuse relay today put in but to no joy tried the bsi reset no loy there so I know theres a car place near by that will open back up on Monday I'll get them to have a look to see if they can clear it thanks for the help

That's a shame mate, pity that wasn't it. Listen when you lift the red battery cover off, underneath is the metal plate where several heavy wires connect to it. They are all on bolted connections. Did you have that bit fitted (the metal plate with wires) when you touched the ECU to the battery? If so, you see the little coloured plastic bits on each wire as it goes to that metal plate, they are a collection of links and fuses, though they don't look like fuses.

If you touched one of those bolt threads with the ECU casing, you would have blown the plastic link or fuse and it may still look normal outside. I'd check those for continuity..
