Speed sensor location, HELP!
#1
Had the van in at least a million bits today looking for the speed sensor, no joy.

Wheel off, battery tray, air filter housing, no joy.

Found one sensor on top of the bell housing, took the plug off, rebuilt van, no joy, speedo still worked (ish)

Does any one know precisely where it is? 'above the drive shaft' is a bit vague, cos I've looked there and couldn't find it. A picture would be great.

Help.

Please.

Hi Steve,
According to Haynes manual "The vehicle speed sensor is an integral part of the speedometer drive" "The speedometer drive is on the rear of the transmission housing, next to the inner end of the right-hand drive shaft"
Hope this helps,

Nope, that doesn't help one bit Sad unless the Haynes manual has a picture?

That helps, I think I saw where that was when I had it in bits.

I'll wait for another free day to have another pop at it.

Cheers.

A friend of mine swapped the rev cable for the speedo cable and lives happily with that solution :-) I think it was a Berlingo 02
