Bulbs
#1
Ive just fitted some chrome indicator bulbs to the front of the hearse -I put some in the back lamps ages ago but never bothered with the front because you cant really see the bulbs on the mk3 .
But what a difference!Confusedunny:
I hadnt realised what a dull grubby brown look the orange bulbs give.

I put some Osram Coolblue sidelamps in too, but Ill wait for darkness before making a verdict
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

I'm curious. What are "chrome" indicator bulbs?? I get the indicator part but where does the chrome come in? Also interested in the CoolBlue side lamps. I have Osram Night Breakers for my headlights but wasn't aware of CoolBlue for side lamps. Got any pics or links?? Thanks

They appear to be chrome plated rather than the usual transparent orange and are therefore camoflaged against the reflector. When you switch on the indicator they flash orange as normal.
Totally eliminates the grubby-glow effect when not in use.

Havent tried them at night yet but they look quite hightech in daylight.
I went for the subtle (and legal) minimal tint rather than the full-blue rozzer-magnets that the neanderthals choose
The originals looks quite yellow against the Osram 130 I fitted a while back so this should balance it all out.
Incidentally the originals were surprisingly sooty looking after 2 months...

BTW -Blingo bods will need the "Offset Pin " type indicator bulbs
It is on my to do list.

Thanks for the links. Had never thought about swapping those out. May give it a shot.

Seen a couple of Multispaces going about with these blue sidelights and they DO look cool.

Vans need lovin' too!
Mines a new one so its nice to get it looking great.
Ive just checked out the new sidelight bulbs in the dark.
They give a bright pure white light to match the Osram headlamps.Im glad it wasnt an obvious blue.
I put my lads C1 lamps on for comparison -the standard bulbs give an awful dull yellowish light beside mine.
If it was of MOT age or a real workhorse then I wouldnt bother with fripperies like this although its money well spent.
Then it goes full circle like with some of the customising guys with their MK1's.

Heard this this morning.
There's Murder ,there's suicide -but in beween theres a place called Merseyside.
Probably from Boris ,that one....
It is on my to do list.
