Door compatibility

As part of getting the "Dog", my £400 Cat C write off purchase back on the road, I need to replace the driver's door as the lock has been forced with a screwdriver and now hangs out of the door. While it seems unlilkely that I will get one in the lovely gold colour the car is, most of the ones available seem to be from van berlingos. Are the van door and multispace doors interchangeable or are they different?

The doors should be the same if they are the same model.

But does that mean that a van door will fit my multispace with it's sliding door behind the driver's door?

Could someone give a definite answer on this? I believe it will fit.

No worries - as it seems hard to source a multispace door in gold - and the issue I have is the lock opening has been destroyed - and van doors have different trim holes - have decided to get cut the lock opening out of a donor door from the scrapyard and weld this into my existing door. Don't particularly want to pay £80 for a second hand door in the wrong colour.... it's a shame the paint I had mixed up is very slightly the wrong shape of gold.... but at least the car will be secure.

I'd say the doors would be the same from what I've seen of berlingos over the years.

Some dirty orrible scroat violated my van by screwdriving the lock out, I repaired it by welding an m12 bolt to a small square of stainless steel plate and bolting it in, in place of the lock ( I've upgraded my van to central locking so the lock isn't required )

Probably wouldn't look too good on a drivers door though!

I did look at going the central locking route, but as the door will need to be repaired, decided to just put a patch on for now, and wait for a suitable gold multispace to come on the market with good doors and low price - as all of my doors apart from the driver's door, plus the bonnet have dents in them.

The central locking was a £20 kit of ebay!! took about 2 hours to fit and setup (it's very easy)

It's worked flawlessly for 4 years, except when one of the retaining screws came loose.
