Femco drain plug oil change
#1

Hi folks

A few people have messaged me about the Femco Drain Plug that I fitted to my car a few years ago in place of the sum plug.

I have just changed the oil at the weekend and thought I'd share a photo with you showing it you in action and how much easier it is and cleaner than the normal way of dropping the oil.

The engine is run to full temp and then the attachment at the top of the green hose is screwed to the plug and the oil drops straight into an old oil tub to be disposed of at the local refuse tip.

After the old oil is drained, I leave the hose in place and always run about half a litre of cheap clean oil through just to wash out any bits at the bottom of the sum. The hose is then detached and oil refilled after a new filter is fitted.

These's still a little mess removing the old filter, but it's far easier than it was.

That's not true. The Sun fits under every car's oil drain point.
