confidence to DIY service
#1
When I was working, it was just a question of putting the vehicle (Multi Mk2) into the garage for a service, and then opening the wallet. But..

Been a bit jobless to do that without something else being forfeited, so how easy is it do carry out a proper service please ?

I have all the usual tools, and quite a lot of experience looking after my Landrover for many years, but I lack a proper service list and the standard in-car manual is very reluctant to talk about serviing - surprise.

Where can I buy a manual pls (the Haynes is for the mk1 only - yes ?)

TIA

How many miles has your MK2 done mate? Most of the jobs are pretty straight forward, but as i asked, mileage dependant you might need one or more of your belts changing which is a bit more involved.

No, there's a Haynes for the Mark 2.

18 months ago I'd never touched a car, but I've now serviced mine twice and repaired various bits like the anti-roll bar links. Cleaned out the throttle body etc....

Made a few mistakes along the way, but as a keen DIYer in terms of the house etc... I like a challenge, to read up on things and have a go. First time out, I might not save a great deal if I balls something up, but second and third time I will!!

Plus I know my service on my Berlingo and my wifes car have been the full monty with no corners cut... coolant renewal, fuel filters, pollen filters the lot!

Having played about with landy's I'm sure you'll have no issues playing with the bingo!
The haynes covers mk1 & mk2 models and covers all the usual.

As above Haynes is Mk 1 & 2.

The basic servicing is straightforward, if you deiate from these items then the HBoL isn't bad, plus the help you get on this forum means it isn't as daunting as it might seem

thanks everyone for the encouragement.

I tried to look at the Haynes manual on line and it seems to go to 05 year only. Mine is a 07 plate diesel . I guess the manual might have come out in 05, and before the Mk3. I don't want to lash out £12+ on eBay if it doesn't cover my car.

So, final question is (and I HAVE looked on the forum and downloaded the workshop manual - brilliant stuff! what a resource. )...

... is there a list of things to do at the different service intervals please ? (Vehicle has done 40000 miles and is showing 1100 miles to the service)

Manual is Haynes number 4281 - this covers Mk2.

Yes there are different items listed at different mileages but they are listed cumulatively. Do you want to start at 40k and work from there or, treat this as your start point for the future?

Personally, I think it depends on what you know of the history of the vehicle to now. Are you confident that what it says in the service book/records is true? If not, do it all now and start from a known good point and service/renew as you need to from here.
